Suspension advice.

Postby sammy » Sun Sep 01, 2013 11:21 pm

Hi guys, who would be the best contact for getting some upgrades on the bike re suspension?
Can do well with importing Ohlins from the US but would rather source local if possible.
Happy with Racetech" or any other, doesnt have to be Ohlins.

cheers.

Krooz Tune in Boronia have a very good reputation and do Glen Allerton's suspension. They serviced the suspension on my ZXR and go it working pretty nicely. I am sure if you have a budget they will be able to give you some options. Initially revalving, correct spring rates and good fork oil will do wonders without having to go full blown race suspension Ohlins etc and will cost a lot less.

Hey Sammy I have the same bike as you. I had Steve Mudford do all my work.
Not the cheapest but before he started his own workshop worked for Ohlins for 10-15years.

Hes based in Kennsignton 0414421366

Im extremely happy with mine and the tyre wear I'm achieving.

Hi Jonny... well the bloke i went to see yesterday wanted me to pay his house off i think, thought i was a wood duck. lol

my major issue is tyre wear, killing me!.The 600 was better but still shagged one tyre in a day, dont recon the stock setup will achieve a lot, gotta do something.
Change tyres in the mean time.

I was extremely happy with my tyre wear. I was doing 49s on a second hand slick and its still got another day in it.

Plus my mate rode it for two sessions as well, when he had gearbox issues

Hey Sammy , If Your on a budget My experience With using RACE TECH's Gold Valves & Shim Stacks Designed by Your input of Bike ,Your weight, and How You ride & How fast.Created bye Grant or Terry Hayes at Shock Treatment, if U send them your forks & shock U Could get a suited rear Spring "Eibach" Gold valve with the tailored Shim stack and a Rebound -Compression separator nut-& at the front a pair of Suited springs & G2r Compression Valves & G3 Hi speed Rebound Valves & Shims Fitted for a total of around $1700.00. Fitted. I can personally say from experience that this Front & rear set up works very nearly too an Ohlins TTX rear $2000 + ? & Front cartridges $2000.00 ? So unless Your needing to put out ASBK times its dam, Great Gear Fitted By Experts, Terry Hayes is an innovator in suspension parts. Call them at Shock Treatment. Hope this helps as it did Me.
